This morning I was standing in the right spot at the right time with camera on hand. I saw a bird flying toward my property and began snapping photos as it flew overhead.
Here is a photo with spread wings, although not as clear. It has a pecan in its mouth, which is how they are often seen around here since fall.
I sometimes see pecan shells on the ground that look like they’ve been eaten by a Blue Jay – a large rough hole having been pecked into them.
