Brown and gold with a little white specking. Sitting on a Texas Groundsel flower in a sunny location of the property.

Adults occasionally visit flowers for pollen, while the larvae bore through the wood of various trees and shrubs, creating flattened tunnels.

This family of beetles is huge with over 15,000 species, many of them ornately colored, some downright dazzling.
