[Update 5-13-12: This plant has been identified. See ‘Cut-Leaf Evening Primrose’ under ‘categories’]
I have yet to identify this little yellow flower. It began blooming Feb 21 on my property. Each bloom is about the size of a dime. I have a Texas Flowers identification book coming in the mail, but if anyone viewing this post knows what it is, please let me know.
A closer view of one of the blooms. Fully bloomed, the flower is about the size of a quarter.
Here’s a better view of the green plant it grows on.
The blooms don’t seem to last very long, they bloom one day and within a couple days they are schrivelling up. I only have several of these plants so far, but it seems that they are becoming more populous.
